Adult Moth

Small moth, about an inch across. Wings white to brownish, speckled brown, with wavy brown lines. Two brown spots on outer part of each forewing, one darker. Body fairly thick with pale ruff.

Native moth of the eastern US, Pennsylvania and Illinois south to Florida and Texas. Likes deciduous woodslands, where its caterpillars are believed to feed on buckeyes, of which Wildwood has many.
