Very small mushroom, less than 3 mm across, disc-shaped, with a slightly raised rim, shiny, brilliant lemon-yellow. Fruits in summer and fall..

On rotting logs and stumps. Occasional in Wildwood.

An easily identified, but easily overlooked mushroom. Most often noticed as a bright splash of yellow that is examined more closely. Orange jelly drops (Dacrymyces stillatus) are orange, and often somewhat irregular.
