Low, furry plant with intricate flowerheads composed of multiple tubular flowers. Flowers blue to purple, pink, or white. Leaves very narrow, sometimes divided into narrow segments. Blooms in summer.
Commonly cultivated and often found in commercial wildflower mixtures. Occasional in open areas of the Park, especially meadows, possibly coming in on mowing equipment.
Knapweeds have similar flowers but they are always violet, and the plants are much larger. |
