Low plant with grass-like leaves, a winged stem, and small light blue to
blue-violet (rarely white) flowers with a yellow center. Blooms from
May until autumn. Found in
damp sunny areas, especially along Wildwood Drive and the Riverway.
Slender blue-eyed grass (S. mucronatum)
has a narrower stem, without wings. It occurs in this part
of the state, but has not been reported in Wildwood.
