Low plant with grass-like leaves, a winged stem, and small light blue to blue-violet (rarely white) flowers with a yellow center.  Blooms from May until autumn. Found in damp sunny areas, especially along Wildwood Drive and the Riverway. 

Slender blue-eyed grass (S. mucronatum) has a narrower stem, without wings.  It occurs in this part of the state, but has not been reported in Wildwood.
