Hispid Buttercup (Ranunculus hispidus)
Ranunculaceae or Buttercup Family

Plant

Shiny yellow flowers in the spring.  Lower and basal leaves have three divisions, which are further divided.

Charming native. In Wildwood, occasional in dry, rocky areas on the eastern slope of the Park.

There are several buttercup species in the Park.  The combination of leaf shape, relatively large flowers, and dry rocky habitat is a good indication that the plant is hispid buttercup.
