Crown Vetch (Coronilla varia)
Fabaceae or Pea Family
 

Low, spreading plant.  Pink and white pea-like flowers in large clover-like clusters.  Fruit a flattened "pea pod" (a legume). Leaves divided into 11-25 long, pointed leaflets.   Blooms in summer.

A common weed, frequently planted in the past for erosion control  Can be found in disturbed areas along the Riverway bikepath and on the edges of the park.

The large patches of beautiful pink and white pom-poms are easily recognized.
