Fringe Tree (Chionanthus virginicus)
Oleaceae or Olive Family
 

Small understory tree with oval, pointed leaves that are t opposite each other.  Flowers white with four very long petals. 

Occasional in the wooded parts of the Park, especially on the eastern slope.

Unmistakable in flower.  Unlikely to be noticed when not; however, other understory trees in the Park have obviously different leaves.
