Monkey Flower,  Mimulus ringens
Scrophulariaceae or Figwort Family

Upright plant, to about 3 feet tall.  Leaves in pairs opposite each other, stalkless, long oval-shaped, toothed.  Flowers on long stalks, tubular with a wide lower lip, pale violet, with a yellow throat.  Blooms in summer.

Lovely native plant of wet places.  Occasional in wet spots in Wildwood.

Easily identified because the showy pale violet and yellow flowers are distinctive.
