Short plant, to about 2 feet. Leaves oblong, with coarse rounded teeth. Larger leaves have a small prickle at the base. Flowers less than 1/2 inches wide, yellow, somewhat propeller-shaped, with 5 petals. Buds with wings. Fruit a capsule.

Alien weed of waste places.

Known from the Great South Meadow of Wildwood.
