Low plant, 6 to 18 inches tall, with egg-shaped, coarsely toothed
leaves with 3 main veins. Leaves opposite each other.
Flower heads small (~1/4 inch) with a small cluster of yellow
disc flowers and 4 or 5 white ray flowers, each with 3 large teeth at tip.
Blooms throughout summer and fall.
Alien. A common weed of sunny places, including
gardens. In Wildwood occasional in sunny open areas,
especially along the bikeway.
The tiny daisy-like flowers with usually 5 rays resembling stylized tulip flowers are
distinctive. All other white daisy-like species in the
Park have larger flowers. |
