An albino goldernrod. Small plant, 6-30 inches tall. Stems rough hairy. Flowerheads small, with 7 to 9 white rays and a white to yellow center. Leaves oval, alternate on stem. Lower ones toothed and long-stalked; upper ones usually with no stalks and no teeth. Blooms in autumn.
A native of dry soils. In Wildwood, occasional on the east slope, especially along woodland edges.
Easily recognized by its white flowers and its resemblance to goldenrods. |
