Yellow Iris (Iris pseudacorus)

Long narrow, typical iris leaves; yellow, typical iris flowers.  Blooms in late spring.

Plant of shallow ponds, marshes and streambanks.  Originally cultivated as an ornamental and occasionally escaping.  In Wildwood can be found in the marshes near the Main Street entrance and along Connelly's Run.  May be planted or wild escapees, or both.
