Short, erect plant. Flowers, which are in large,
branching clusters, have 4 tiny green sepals and abundant yellow-green
stamens that droop below the sepals. Leaves are divided into three
leaflets, which have scalloped edges. Blooms in early spring in

Tall meadow rue
and waxy meadow rue have distinctly
different leaves, bloom in early summer, and prefer sunny, open places.
