Small plant, but tall for a violet. Flowers white with violet
markings and a yellow center. Leaves heart-shaped. Blooms
mid-spring. In the woods on the western slope of the park,
particularly common along the trail near the north Riverway bridge.
Most violets in the park are violet or yellow. Common
blue violet (V. papilionacea) can be white, but it will
usually be found growing along with the typical purple form. |
