Description. Erect plant 1 to 2 feet tall. Leaves all at the base, flat narrow. Flowers rare in Wildwood, with 6 white to pink petals. Flowers more usually replaced in part or completely by miniature onion bulbs that can break off and produe new plants. Entire plant with an onion odor.

A peculiar native. Likes partial to full sun; more likely to produce flowers in full sun. In Wildwood, occasional along edges of woodlands.

Nodding onion (A. cernuum)is common along the bluffs on Wildwood Drive; it does not produce bulblets and always has striking pink, nodding flowers.
