listing of recent changes made to the website, for those interested in
new species pages that go up, corrections to the old pages, and new
pictures that are added.
20 January 2025
Added a new page for the fungus Silky Parchment, and made connections and corrections in the pages of its relatives, Crowded Parchment and False Turkey Tails.
16 January 2025
Added a photograph to the page for Cracked Cap Polypore (a fungus) and added comments on its taxonomy.
8 January 2025
Corrected the page for Pink Slime slime
mold. This was identified as the species Dictydiaethelium
plumbeum, but is more likely the similar species Tubifera magna.
13 March 2023
Updated the News Page on how the flowers were faring before the storm.

Restarted the News Page. No current events that I know of are planned, but reports are coming in of early blooming flowers. Check it out.

Added
pictures on the pages for Bloodroot a wildflower, for Mossy Maze Polypore (a fungus) and for Scarlet Cup (another fungus).

Added a new
page for Eastern Garter Snake,
and added a link for this species to the Herp
list. Also corrected the
name of the Eastern Kingsnake (Lampropeltis getula getula),
which had been misspelled, and updated the scientifc name of Queen
Snake, which has been changed (Natrix septemvitta to Regina
septemvitta).

butterfly). Added a new page for Emerald Ash Borer (an
invasive beetle and killer of ash trees). Added the Emerald Ash
Borer to the Other
Insects and Spiders page.

(a wildflower) and added several new pictures to the page for Black Haw (a shrub).

Revised the
page for Prairie Ragwort,
(a wildflower),
giving it a new name, Appalachian Ragwort, adding some new pictures,
and
including a disscusion of the current controversy of the relationship
of our plants to other ragworts.
